Rolwaling Valley
The Rolwaling Valley Trek is one of Nepal's most thrilling and off-the-beaten-path adventures. Often referred to as "the grave" due to its deep and steep topography, this region remains largely untouched by modern development and commercial trekking. Nestled close to the Tibetan border, the trek offers close-up views of the majestic Mt. Gauri Shankar (7,134m) and Melungtse (7,181m). As you hike through dense rhododendron and bamboo forests, you'll encounter diverse wildlife and traditional Sherpa villages like Beding and Na. A major highlight is reaching Tsho Rolpa, one of the largest glacial lakes in Nepal, boasting stunning turquoise waters surrounded by snowy peaks. This trek requires a good level of physical fitness and is perfect for adventurers seeking solitude and raw Himalayan beauty.
