Mardi Himal
The Mardi Himal Trek is a relatively new and incredibly scenic route in the Annapurna region, offering an "off-the-beaten-path" feel without venturing too far into extreme wilderness. Unlike valley treks, this trail follows a high ridge line, meaning you are consistently rewarded with panoramic views. The trek takes you through enchanting rhododendron and oak forests until you break the tree line at High Camp. From there, the landscape opens up dramatically. The hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) is the crown jewel, offering unparalleled, in-your-face views of the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) peak, Mardi Himal, and the sheer face of Annapurna South. It’s an excellent choice for those looking for a shorter, quieter alternative to the Annapurna Base Camp trek while still experiencing spectacular high-altitude vistas.
